One of the earliest pieces I created in a "professional" sense, this piece was inspired by a farm near the home of my parents. You can cut and arrange your own bouquet, and zinnias are one of the main flowers they grow. The many colors of zinnias made them very appealing to me as a semi-inexperienced artist - I just wanted to use every color on my palette to make something bright and joyful. The reference photo was taken on a hazy day, and I really tried to capture that through the soft focus of the background.
